Photo of Shen Lung at anchor in the Mobjack Bay A picture of the boat that was entered in the One - Two Race, June 1989. It was also my home, I was living aboard.

She is a 1969 30ft.C&C Redwing, bought in Annapolis Maryland specifically for the race. Considering the cost of outfitting a vessel for offshore sailing, I had to find a strong capable vessel that I could trust and afford.

Outfitting expenses put into a vessel, especially an older vessel, will never be recoupped at a later sale - all this was determined in the choice. She is sloop rigged with Atomic Four inboard gasoline engine. Under body is a moderate fin keel with spade rudder.
